The fraud of medical products has always been a serious problem, not only because it has been bringing losses to the pharma business, but more so because it poses a serious threat to patients' health. The scale of the problem is indreasing alarmingly: according to EU statistics, 2,711410 fake drugs were seized by European customs in 2006, which is 384% more than in 2005. And this figure is expected to rise even further in the years to come.
