From 13 to 15 March, intralogistics and process management professionals from all over the world flocked to the LogiMAT halls in Stuttgart. Exhibiting there for the first time, Faubel displayed smart labels combining label functionality with RFID technology and e-paper (electronic paper).
E-paper - with or without battery?
A range of applications was demonstrated using the exhibits, for example, how to identify and localize goods. "Using the exhibits, we were able to present Faubel's wide smart label portfolio and to answer visitors' questions right away," said Petra Schäffner, Business Development Manager at Faubel, who took care of the company's booth with other colleagues.
Besides the exhibits, the presentation she gave with Alexander Oppermann, Development Engineer at Faubel's RFID Competence Center, met with great interest on the first day of the show. Attendees to a fully-booked Forum C gained insight into "Visualizing Industry 4.0 with the help of intelligent e-paper labels". There, the speakers addressed the development of smart labels as well as key issues such as power supply in e-paper display.
After three eventful days, Petra Schäffner's conclusion about Faubel's trade show debut was extremely positive: "We had a lot of interesting conversations about specific projects and we hope to be able to use these contacts in the future. LogiMAT was a great forum for us and Faubel will most probably take part again next year."
