How does it feel to live and work abroad? That's what Tobias Grauer has been doing since February 2019. After working more than eight years as a printer at the Faubel Group headquarters in Melsungen, he is now supporting the team of our subsidiary, Faubel Pharma Services, in the USA.
"Right from the start, I was thrilled at the prospect of working abroad. Obviously, that sort of decision involved some effort. I got in-house training to brush up my English and also had quite a few personal arrangements to make beforehand. Ultimately, it's worth it," reports Tobias Grauer after less than ten weeks spent in the US.
He now supervises the overprinting of booklet labels at Faubel Pharma Services. The labels are delivered straight from Melsungen and subsequently printed with variable data on presses located in Bordentown. Thanks to his long-standing experience in sheet-fed printing, Grauer fully matched the job spec as Faubel Managing Director Martin Kuge was recruiting staff for FPS: "This position requires a high level of expertise and quality awareness, which is why it had to be filled internally. In addition, the person required should be open-minded and communicative. This helps promote intercultural exchange, which is essential for a global company like Faubel."
Tobias Grauer finds networking with his American colleagues and living abroad an exciting experience that contributes to his personal and career development. "Living and working abroad sharpens my awareness of other perspectives and gives me new ideas."
