Battery-free E-Paper labels are the future of logistics – under this motto, CCL Faubel will present innovative labeling solutions at LogiMAT 2025 in Stuttgart. At booth 2D07 in Hall 2, the company will feature Smart Labels with RFID and E-Paper technology that can be integrated into existing IT systems via different interfaces. RFID is already an integral part of intralogistics processes, and the combination with E-Paper displays is increasingly being used. What sets our Smart Labels apart, however, is their battery-free functionality and the high flexibility in implementation," explains Sven Rath, Business Development Manager at CCL Faubel.
The software for Smart Labels is developed internally at CCL Faubel to meet the specific network requirements of customers. "We offer a wide range of interfaces," Rath adds. "Thanks to our Smart Device service, we enable seamless integration with ERP systems." A Smart Printer function, supporting various printing protocols, ensures an easy setup. Content is transferred to the E-Paper via print job.
Presentation on the Future of Logistics
Sven Rath will explain in detail how the updating of battery-free E-Paper labels via print job works during a presentation on March 13, 2025, at 10:00 AM in Forum South, Hall 4. In addition to the Smart Printer function, CCL Faubel aims to highlight the durability and sustainability of these labels with its exhibits. "Our Smart Labels can be rewritten hundreds of thousands of times. There is no battery that can fail or needs to be disposed of, and the robust plastic housing can withstand the high stresses of logistics over a long period."
Sven Rath's statements are supported by the current IP55 certification of the Faubel-Logistics Label. Tests on the electrical and mechanical safety of this E-Paper label have been successful. The housing is resistant to UV radiation and chemicals, scratch-resistant, breakproof, and thermally stable in temperatures ranging from -25 to 70 degrees Celsius. "The selection of materials was time-consuming," Rath explains. "However, these properties were crucial to us, and the individual components are recyclable to further strengthen sustainability."
